โAnyone who studies Halachot every day is guaranteed that he is destined for the world-to-comeโ (Megilla 28b, Niddah 73a)
Question:
What should one do if ones clothing got dirty in the mud on Shabbat?
Answer:
According to the Sephardic custom If oneโs clothing got dirty by mud, then it depends:
a. If the mud is still wet, then one may grab the area of clothing from the *inside* of the clothing and rub it against itself, or one may use his nail to scratch it even from the outside. [1]
b. If the mud has dried up, one may rub it off by grabbing the inside of the clothing and rubbing it against itself *only* if one is embarrassed to go outside with such a stain and one does not have any other clothing to change into. Preferably, even if one does not have any other clothing, one should ask a non-Jew to take off the mud.[2]
Ashkenazim might be stringent one should ask one's Rabbi.
