״כל השונה הלכות בכל יום - מובטח לו שהוא בן העולם הבא״ (נידה עג ע״א, מגילה כח:)
“Anyone who studies Halachot every day is guaranteed that he is destined for the world-to-come” (Megilla 28b, Niddah 73a)
May one open cans on Shabbat?
There are many poskim who permit opening cans on shabbat, provided that one throws the can away after using it. Some Ashkenazim hold that one needs to totally destroy the can.
One may open a can, such as a can of tuna or sardines on Shabbat, even with a can opener. However, the can should be thrown out immediately upon emptying its contents. Some Ashkenazim are stringent, one should follow ones custom.
Similarly, If possible, it is proper to be stringent and only open a metal bottle cap from before Shabbat. However, if one did not do so, it is permitted to open it even on Shabbat itself, and there is no need to puncture a hole in it. Some Ashkenazim are stringent and don't open cans and bottles on Shabbat one should follow one's custom.
